U-M Medical School
When faculty at the U-M Medical School received funding to develop a new medical education curriculum, they came to Michigan Creative for web development help. “Caring with Compassion” trains clinicians to effectively treat and support patients in underserved, uninsured, homeless and unemployed populations.
Michigan Creative built a website that includes extensive curriculum content, pre-and post-testing modules for competencies and a game-based teaching module to train healthcare providers to care for at-risk populations in a low-risk environment.
So many hard-working teams of educators do not receive public recognition for their work, so we are truly fortunate that Caring with Compassion has been selected as a 2014 recipient of the U-M Provost’s Teaching Innovation Prize. My sincere congratulations and gratitude go to each of you as well as to the other contributing Michigan Creative specialists. Feedback from attendees here at the Association of Program Directors in Internal Medicine meeting has been highly positive.
