Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
After a year of planning, the university’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Strategic Plan was announced by President Schlissel at the Leadership Breakfast on October 4, 2016. The next day, U-M hosted a campus wide event that celebrated the accomplishments of the wide-ranging cross-campus strategic planning effort and recognized the work ahead. In an effort to help raise awareness of the plan announcement events, the Office of the Vice Provost for Equity, Inclusion and Academic Affairs came to Michigan Creative for help in designing and implementing a communications and marketing strategy, including execution of all creative advertising and collateral.
Michigan Creative built on the recognizable “Be Heard” campaign creative, leveraged and adapted as appropriate for launch-related materials. “Many Voices, Our Michigan”—also the name of the DE&I Strategic Plan itself—was a multi-pronged campaign that included key messaging around the launch of the plan itself and information about the 10/6 event. Campaign elements included original photography, news story coordination, social media strategy, newspaper advertising, event collateral, promotional emails, lightpole banners, campus kiosks, Diag boards, digital signage, posters, event and marketing communications toolkits, website updates and content, live streaming, and a recap video.
